A free photo mosaic maker: turn hundreds of your photos into one big picture, with every small photo placed where its colours and shapes fit best. Ready to print as a poster or canvas for a wedding, anniversary or birthday.

How to make a photo mosaic

  1. Choose the main photo.
  2. Add many other photos; a few hundred is ideal. They become the tiles.
  3. Zoom right into the tiles and adjust the look.
  4. Save the print file; it is made in pieces, so even a 1 m wide poster works on a phone.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos do I need?

A few hundred is ideal, but any number works: every photo is used at least once and none too often.

How does it turn a picture into a mosaic?

Each tile spot is compared with every photo on a 5 × 5 grid of colours, so photos land where their light, dark and colours match the main picture.

Will faces be cut off?

Photos are cropped around faces and the busiest part of the picture.

Can I print it large?

Yes. The print file is made in pieces, so even very large posters work.

Is it free?

Yes, free and without sign-up.

Colour matching

Tints every photo towards the colour of its spot. More makes the big picture clearer, less keeps your photos untouched.

Shading inside tiles

Adds the light and shade of the main photo across each tile, so edges and faces read even with few photos.

Blend in the main photo

Lays the main photo lightly over everything. Professional mosaics use 0–20%.
