How it works

Choose one photo for a page or several for a book. The tool finds the subject (people, pets, objects) and the faces in it, on your device.
Texture such as grass, fur and knitwear is removed first; then the picture is split into shapes along its real outlines, and shapes too small or too thin to colour are merged away. Every shape is closed, so colours never run out.
Shading inside skin and fabric is ignored; faces are drawn from 478 face points the way an illustrator would: eyelids, irises with a highlight, brows, nose and lips. Small dark spots such as eyes and noses become solid black.
The level sets everything at once: bold lines and a few big shapes for toddlers, finer lines, more shapes and detail strokes for teens and adults.
The background can stay, be simplified, be removed, or become a pattern, a mandala, a zentangle or a scenery. Add a name in bubble letters and a frame.
Download as PDF (A4 or Letter, every line a real vector), PNG at 300 dpi, or SVG. Several photos become one book PDF with a cover.
