1860 - fotojockovic.com/1860 ============================ Wet-plate collodion portrait (tintype / ambrotype / daguerreotype) from the phone camera. Everything runs in the browser; no image leaves the device. Our own work: exposure integration and stabilisation, Petzval optics, the two-hit tone model and its calibration, plate defects and ageing, presentation, UI. Sources and licences of everything else: 1. stoatworks-labs/wetplate (MIT) - https://github.com/stoatworks-labs/wetplate Ideas and code patterns reused and adapted: thin-film drainage coating (thickness ~ sqrt of distance drained, after Jeffreys 1930), the seeded ragged bare edge, comets running down the drain direction, PCG hashing, and the presentation rule "silver intercepts 1 - 10^-D of the light, mix with the backing". Licence text below. 2. Spectral sensitivity of wet collodion: P. Skladnikiewitz, D. Hertel, I. Schmidt, "The Wet Collodion Process - A Scientific Approach", J. Imaging Sci. Technol. 42(5):450-458 (1998). The 40/60 Br/I curve as digitised by stoatworks. Our 3 linear-RGB weights (R 0.0768, G 0.0140, B 0.9092) are a least-squares fit of that curve over 190 measured reflectances under D65 (0.20 stop RMS on the ColorChecker); see dokumenta/tools/WETPLATE_RESEARCH.md. The daguerreotype weights come from an inferred AgI-only curve. 3. Tone model: developability as a Poisson two-hit process, D = Dmax (1 - e^-x (1 + x)), x = H/H0, with Dmax 1.35 and H0 0.241 (tintype). Fitted to tonal relations (backdrop / skin / dark wool) measured on The Met CC0 tintype 301944; highlight colour and black level calibrated on 301944 and ambrotype 291942. The mild over-exposure roll-off ("bromisation") is an inference, not a measured curve. 4. The object pages themselves were behind a bot checkpoint at the time of checking. The original plates are covered by our rendering; the cases and mats are reproduced resized. 6.
